Portland Trip

At the front of the tram (excuse the "I can't see `cos of the sun face")

The hospital where my sister was born

The lady was brave enough to stop the traffic with her red flag

Me and Chelsea

Braving the no barrier side

The ocean with very large ships..

The Foreshore

The front of the tram

Today my family went for a drive over the South Australian/Victorian border to visit a town called Portland. My family has previously lived here before, but I was only little so it was nice to do some touristy things with our cousins there. We took the Cable Car Tram that travels around the town, past all of the beautiful sights that must be visited when in Portland. As it was a beautiful day, we ended the trip by going to a playground on the foreshore.

My Future

Lately I have been thinking about what I want to do when I get older and leave school, so I thought I would share my plan with you:)

Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be a teacher. I remember coming home from school when I was 7 and giving my sister little school lessons. We even had a table where "school" would take place. I have always enjoyed teaching people. In school we have had to start thinking about what we want to do and how we will get there. I have enjoyed this because I now know what I need to achieve to become a teacher.

Last term, all year tens did work experience and I did mine at my sisters school. I worked in the Special Education class (so working with kids with disabilities) and one day in the music classroom. I am so glad that I worked in the Special Ed class as it has made me think more about what type of teacher I want to be.

I now know that I want to become a Primary School teacher, specialising in Special Education as well as doing Music and Drama.
I have also been thinking a lot lately about how disadvantaged some parts of the world are, especially in education. So I would like to go overseas somewhere where teachers are not so available and teach.

I will of course continue doing Music and Drama as I get older, and I think they will play an important part in my classroom.

All of this might change as I continue to become older (although I hope it doesn't as  being a teacher will be amazing) But I know I will be in a position who helps people, and I will always give 110% everyday.

I hope you enjoyed this post. I thought it might give you a bit more of an insight to who I am, and who I want to become.
If you would like to share with us what you want to do when your older, make sure you comment below:)

October

November? How on Earth can this year be nearly at the close? I mean, I still remember my first day of the school year like it was yesterday? But here I am, writing about the month of October, and what a quick but quiet one it was for me.

A the start of October, I was still on my school holidays, and not much happened. Other than going to the movies and staying at friends' house. Most of the holidays was me either sitting at home or at work.

Visit from friends
We did get a visit from our friends, whom came camping in my town. We helped them set up their tents in the very freezing and windy conditions of my lovel piece of paradise. Whilst being ever so useful I was smart enough to get stung by a bee, right on my hand. Why a bee would be out and about on a gloomy day it was I have no clue. But I have never been stung be a bee, and lets just say I did not enjoy the experience. As I am someone who doesn't stop worrying, I of course was worried I would be allergic to bees. I quickly calmed down as the mum out o the group was also a nurse and told I was not having a reaction.. I was very pleased!! While they were in town, we also went out for lunch. So the 10 of us all sat down in the local Hungry Jacks and had lunch. But as there were ten of us the adult sat separate from us kids, and as I was the oldest I was supposed to be mature and make sure they behave. Well we had the smart idea to see who put the most straws together to make one really long straw and drink from there soft drink. They may not see me as a mature teenager any more... They of course said that the next time we see them we have to bring lots of straws and make even bigger ones.. haha:)

Charis' Solo
A few months ago Charis was a performance in Adelaide where lots and lots of choirs from all over South Australia. Well as well as performing in Adelaide, we had a regional one here in the South East. A few of the songs have solos, so Charis tried out for one called 'Seize the Day', and she got it!! She was the only person from her school to receive a solo and was very excited. She performed brilliantly and did her school proud. I was the proudest sister in the building!!

School
As I said before October started during my school holidays, unfortunately  the holidays ended and off I was back to school. I do enjoy school, so it wasn't really as annoying as it is for some. So far this term has been quite normal, and I haven't done anything but school work. Except last week I went to a Reconciliation Conference where we talked about Aboriginals rights. I found it really interesting and very rewarding as now I know even more about their culture and lifestyle 40,000 years and still now.

The show
Just last weekend was my local show, it was a very miserable day, but was made up by all the fun we had I went with my friends and my sister. I went on a few rides, although my sister went on some truly scary rides with a couple of my friends. Charis doesn't do well with movement and has even thrown up when being spun on an office chair. Lets just say I was a bit worried about her!!

Spring!!!
It has been spring now for 2 months, and other than a few days here and there we have been having horrible weather in my area, whilst nearly everywhere else is having very hot days. But I'd like to say it has finally turned around and we are having a beautiful day here today, I thought I should write outside!!

I think that is pretty much it. Like I said, it has been quick but quiet!!

October Haul

Over the last couple of months I have been saving up all of my new purchases to put into a haul post. I did one of these a few months ago, and I had lots of in taking all the photos and writing about them. I wasn't very smart though and I haven't kept track of all the prices.. I will make sure next time I will;). Enjoy!!

Big W
The first thing I bought was a nice greeny/bluey coloured top that have capped sleeves and is longer than an average t-shirt. It looks nice tucked in to jean, skirts etc.

The next thing is a woolen jumper gets lighter as it gets closer to the bottom. It is so warm  and comfortable. It also looks really nice with necklaces, especially the ones I feature in my previous haul post.

This item is a nice dress that goes just above the knee and has horizontal navy blues and white lines. The sleeves go just to the elbow. This dress is suitable for winter and summer as it looks nice with stockings and a coat as well as by itself. the material is also nice and flowy so it is perfect for the summer heat.

Ally Fashion
Ally Fashion is quickly becoming my favourite place to shop as it always has things on sale, but I find the full priced things can sometimes be a good deal. A few months ago I saw this skirt as soon as I walked in and I had to have it. I was the very first person to buy it at that store.. So I got in quite quick! Anyway I love the colour and pattern and the length (it goes to just above the knee). I love wearing this with a nice top tucked in with or without stockings.

K-mart
A few months ago I was in my schools musical, so I had to stock up on my make-up, so I went into K-mart and found some good make-up for reasonably good prices.

Maybeline New York Concealer or Cover Up (Sorry about the very blurry picture..)

Maybeline New York Mineral Power - Powder Foundation. It also comes with a nice small brush.

Red Revlon Lipstick - 029

Maybeline New York Black Mascara

Ebay
Earlier this year I bought an Iphone 5, and I love buying different cases. So far I have bought 5 different cases (although I have only pictured 3) to use, although I original case has broken:( I love buying off Ebay as there are so many different styles and patterns and are always pretty cheap.

This one has different patterns ranging from birds to clouds to flowers, I thought it was really cute.

The next two have an Aztec pattern but are different styles. The first one is a normal cover and the second is a flip case with spaces for cards or money inside.

Ugg Boot Shop
In winter (or any other season) Ugg Boots are a must. I'm not sure about anywhere else, but Uggies are a very popular type of shoe. As you can see I wasn't very clever and didn't water proof them before wearing them outside at a camp when it rained most of the time..  and I now have a mark as long as your thumb along the side.. Anyway, these are very comfortable slippers and are a must in my wardrobe.

I hope you liked this post, if there was any part of it in particular, make sure you comment below what you liked. Thanks for reading!!

Top TV Shows

Hi everyone!! Today I thought I would share with you what my favourite TV shows are and what they are about. In my family we sit down and watch TV shows that we have bought (we  have over 10 different series in our cupboards) and we watch them from start to end over a few weeks. I become quite attached to the characters, so when a show finishes I get quite sad..

Will & Grace
This show started in 1999 and is about a group of friends who are all very close. I grew up watching this, and have watched every episodes more than 7 times. You watch Will, Grace, Jack and Karen do many funny things (like going to the Sound of Music Sing-Along all dressed up). It is based in New York City, so it is very different settings to where I live. This is a show that will put a smile on your face:).

During the trip from my lounge room to my bedroom I seemed to have lost 3 seasons of this...

Friends
Friends I suppose is very similar to Will and Grace, and is from a similar time. It is all about 6 friends getting up to mischief in New York City, along the way the fall in love with many people. This series had 10 seasons, and I cry every time  I get up to the last episode. In true sitcom fashion, this show will make you laugh.

Even though there is ten seasons you won't get bored!!

Modern Family
This is another sitcom, although it only started in 2009. It is all about one big family and their relationship with each other. As the title says it is a modern family, not oe you would have seen 50 years ago, which I like as there aren't many shows like this one.  This series is still being produced and we are up to the fourth season in my house. You could watch it a million times and still walk away in stitches.

It's sad when you see your family in the characters;)
Big Bang Theory
Big Bang Theory is a hilarious show about 6 scientists and an actress who all get together and have fun, whether it's the boys playing dungeons and dragons or the girls (and sometimes Raj) having girls nights in. I like this because it isn't the normal sitcom as it is all about scientists. My family thinks I am just like Sheldon, but I only see that through my uncoordinated way of running..

It gets better every season!!
Doctor Who
This series is very different to the ones I have already talked about, although it is just as good. It is all about an alien (called The Doctor) who travels through time and space with human companions. This series first started in 1963 and started up again last decade. It can be serious at times but there are plenty of jokes thrown in the mix also. We love this show, my sister has even made herself a blog dedicated to all things Doctor Who, you have a look through this link --> The Twelve Doctors

It's always sad to see a doctor go, but you can always fall in love with the new one;)

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed reading this post. If you haven't seen any of these shows, make sure you check them out. If you like them make sure you leave a comment below and tel us what you like.

August + September

September was a very interesting, busy month for me for many reasons.

Work Experience

As part of year 10, we have to do Work Experience where we work in a place that is a possible career choice for your future. I have always wanted to become a Primary School Teacher so I worked at my sisters school in the Special Education Class and Music Class. I loved working these classes. I was in the Special Education Class for 4 days, and I learnt about how each student learns best. It has definitely shown me this is what I want to do after school.
My Birthday

The 7th of September was my sixteenth birthday. As it was my sixteenth birthday I wanted something special that I will keep forever. So a couple of day before my parents took my to the jewelry shop to be fitted with a Pandora's Bracelet and to pick out a charm as a present. Some of my other family members also bought charms for me so I now have 5 charms.
I also went out for dinner with my friends where I was also spoilt me with presents. We took heaps and heaps of funny photos.

Birthday Cake

The Royal Adelaide Show

Every year in Adelaide there is the Royal Adelaide Show. Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia and is much, much bigger than any other town in the state. I have only ever gone to country shows, so it was quite nerve racking walking around heaps of people (country shows are big enough for me!!) My dad, sister and I went on a ride called the Alibaba which takes you high in the sky then quickly comes back down. Lets just say my dad was happy to be safely back on the ground. We also went on the Ferris Wheel, Dodgem Cars and played the side show games. I played the basketball one and I got every shot in. My family were very surprised when I walked back with a giant Lady Bug.. It was a very good day
A Random Painted Cow

Biggest Prize I've Ever Received..

Music Camp

In the last week of term 3, year 10 music students from my school travelled to Adelaide to  perform in front of classes at various schools. I played my clarinet and sung. The performances went well, I'm very lucky to part of a very talented school and year level, with teachers that are willing to do things to make us better performers.
Whilst in Adelaide we had a lot of free time, so naturally we had to go shopping. We were staying in the city so trips to Rundle Mall were quite easy (Although we did start walking the wrong way and nearly got lost.. But luckily a nice lady showed us the way..;)). I bought lots of things from Typo (a stationery shop) an bought the new One Direction Perfume which smells great. I'm not normally very confident walking around this small town without an adult let alone a big city, but I am very happy with myself as my nerves didn't really show.

Thanks for reading, if you have done anything interesting and would like to share it, write it below. And make sure to follow me on instagram, twitter and tumlbr, the link are at the top left.

My silly stories..

Over the last sixteen years I have been involved in quite a few silly stories. So I thought, why not put them on the internet and share them with you.

Training College

About 18 months after I was born my family and I moved to Melbourne so my parents could become ministers for The Salvation Army. This meant living in a 10 story building another dozen families. I don't remember much, although I do remember getting a big tricycle for my third birthday. As we lived in the city, there too many places I could learn to ride my bike. So me and my friends rode it up and down the hall way. I'm not sure if everyone on our level were too happy about, but they all got used to living on a floor with lots of little kids.
At the training college there is a big kitchen and dining area where we can all have our meals. Well one day I must have been walking around up there and fallen over and started crying, so one of our friends picked me up to see what was wrong, except he didn't know I had cut my mouth, so blood went all over his white uniform..

Year 6 Musical

In year six, I was a main character in our school musical. I was very excited!! Before our opening night we had a full dress rehearsal. I have always been a very clumsy person, and often have bruises I can't explain. When I am on a stage I am always worrying that I will fall off. On this day I went the whole day without falling off the stage. But when it came to the very last song, just after I bowed I tripped over someones costume and fell right off the stage. I was so embarrassed!!! Luckily I didn't hurt myself. Although my confidence was quite shaken. Lets just say I watched my step very carefully for the rest of the performances.

There are plenty of silly stories about me, so I might tell you more another time. If you have any funny stories you wish to share, make sure you comment below.
Bye,

Favourite Songs!!

Hey guys!!
I thought that today I would share with you what my favourite songs are and why:). I am always listening to music, and I hate it when I forget to bring my headphones to school.

Tomorrow
I have already talked about this song before.. But it's just that good!! It's by Gianluca Bezzina who was the Malta contestant this year on Eurovision. It is just a lovely, up beat song about a man named Jeremy.. Anyway, I listened to this song and only this song for about 2 weeks. It's just a gorgeous song.

We Are Who We Are
This song really makes me feel special. It is by Little Mix, and they sing it amazingly. I always just break out in song in the car, and get some odd looks, but I don't mind because we are who we are.. - see what I did there.. haha..ha. - I just really like the message of this song, and it's really catchy too.

Same Love
I really love the message of this song too!! It's by Macklemore and it's really well put together. It's a song arguing that marriage should be equal, no matter who you love. I really love the video clip as well *wipes tears*. It's just so beautiful. *grabs tissue box*.

 I Would
So.. I love One Direction.. Probably not much else to say.. It's a really nice, upbeat song which I love listening to.. It will not bore you if it's on constant replay.

When I Was Your Man
So.. I'm not sure why, but this is my favourite song at the moment.. I just love singing it really loudly... It sounds good to me.. but by the expressions on my families face Bruno Mars probably does a better job. Anyway, it's just a nice song about breaking up. It's by Bruno Mars, and he sings it awesomely.

I hope you liked this post. If you haven't heard of any of those songs, search them on YouTube, you won't be wasting your time;)

C'ya!!
